Board of Directors:
Mr. Brant joined East Gate in 2000 and is responsible for fund operations. He serves in Board roles at Fidelica Microsystems and InSound Medical. Mr. Brant specializes in the Digital Media and Medical Device sectors. Mr. Brant has an M.S. in Natural Resource Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and a B.S. in Economics from Montana State University.
Roger Quinlan is currently the Vice President of Field Operations for SAP in Palo Alto. The primary focus of his position is leading the sales team's efforts for all of SAP's products and services into the manufacturing companies in the Western 13 states. Prior to SAP, he spent 3 years overseeing AT&T's campus card programs in the Western 23 states, where he was responsible for coordinating and closing a $73m deal (over 5 years) with the California State University system, among others. His previous employment includes sales and sales management roles at hardware, software and consulting companies, mainly focusing on the higher education, D.O.D. and high tech markets. He has a BA in Political Science from the University of Arizona with a minor in programming and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Howard Block is currently a partner at Knowledge Investment Partners, a hedge fund and private equity partnership focused on companies in the education sector. Prior to KIP, he was Managing Director of Bank America Securities Education Services Group, covering companies like University of Phoenix, Capella University, Blackboard, eCollege, and Sylvan Learning Systems. During his career, Mr. Block was named to Institutional Investors All-America Research Team (1998-2001) and the only Education Services Analyst to receive this ranking in 2001. Howard Block holds a doctorate in education policy from Stanford University and a BA in economics from the University of Michigan.

Victor Borden , Associate Vice President of Institutional Research and Accountability, Indiana University |
Victor (Vic) Borden is Associate Vice Chancellor for Information Management and Institutional Research at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). He is also an Associate Professor at IUPUI' Psychology Department. Dr. Borden's primary research interests are in the areas of student progress and performance, and institutional and program performance indicators. His professional activities include consulting and teaching workshops on program assessment, statistics, survey research and the use of technology for assessment, decision support, and institutional analysis. His most recent publications include the ACE/AIR monograph, "Measuring Quality: Choosing among surveys and other college and university quality assessments"and chapters in The Scholarship of Assessment (Trudy Banta, ed., 2003) as well as the forthcoming book, "Engaging and changing higher education through brokerage" (Norman Jackson, ed. In press). Dr. Borden is currently President of the Association for Institutional Research.
Mr. Le has over 20 years of product research and development in the computer industry. Prior to Provost, he was Chief Security Architect for Embrace Networks, Storcard, and Npoint, a smart card company he co-founded in 1997. While at Npoint, he was the principal architect in charge of developing a smart card system that was integrated into Singapore's NETS Cash Card system. From 1994 to 1997 he also served as a functional executive at National Semiconductor's Areospace division, where he was responsible for the security architecture for the products in the division. In 1983, Mr. Le joined IBM Corporation, where he participated in the development of a new generation of computer, referred to as the Reduce Instruction Set Computer (RISC). This innovative architecture was the foundation for the PowerPC processors used in various Apple computers. Subsequently, he participated in various advanced computer projects at IBM, in the following capacities: research and development engineer, data security architect, and project manager. In his last position at IBM, he served as a key architect at the IBM Cryptographic Center of Competence, a corporate organization that developed the security architectures, algorithms (such as DES and triple DES), and product strategies for IBM security products. Mr. Le holds 25 issued patents and several patents on file, and has published over 20 papers and technical disclosures in the area of computer architecture and cryptography.

Bob Moul is President and CEO of Boomi Software Inc., a leading business integration software company focused on the needs of small to mid-sized businesses. Prior to joining Boomi, Bob was a company officer and Group President, Education Solutions for MAXIMUS Inc., a $650 million government consulting company, and company officer and President of Global Education Solutions at Systems and Computer Technology Corporation (SCT). At SCT, he led a dramatic turnaround of the company's performance, achieving record revenues and software license fees, culminating in the sale of the company to SunGard Data Systems in December 2003 for $585m. Mr. Moul holds a Masters Degree in Technology Management from the University of Maryland, University College and has attended advanced management programs at the University of Michigan and MIT. He is a member of the board of directors at Boomi Software and the advisory boards of several early-stage technology companies.
