Teacher's Pet Program

Grade XL 3.0's Teacher View enhancements streamline the grading process for those who rely on it the most, the instructors grading assignments and assessments. Direct entry capability and edit modes in the updated in-page editor permit Excel©-like data entry and grading of assignments directly from Teacher View. Teachers never need to leave the class spreadsheet and a maximized window gives them a full screen view that allows them to work with more information at one time. Data management in Teacher View is also streamlined through enhancements including new column headers that feature gradebook item categories, the ability to filter and sort data by category, the inclusion of a student ID column, and a search tool that quickly filters students by ID number, username, first and last name to allow focused data entry and review.

Helpful visual changes make the system easier for teachers, administrators and students to quickly review grades at a glance. In Teacher View, new color-coding distinguishes pending items by the number of days they have been submitted. A helpful counter also offers teachers quick notice to handle requested, then rejected, grade approvals. Within Grade XL, simple icons now let instructors quickly monitor whether an assessment counts toward the final grade calculation as well as if the item is available to the student. The IS Tools feature, which allows advisors to view student grades across multiple courses, has been enhanced with a Progress Bar. This bar offers Instructional Supervisors and administrators a clear and accurate visual display to determine student progress based upon gradebook item completion.
