New design saves teachers much time

SANTA CLARA , CA - August 2, 2006 - Provost Systems announced today that it had completed a 2.0 version of its popular Provost Grade XL.

Provost Grade XL is a building block for Blackboard, which improves Blackboard's gradebook functionality. The earlier, 1.0 version of Provost Grade XL provided improved weighting/grading, the ability to switch courses via a dropdown list, the ability to attach notes and files to student grades and assignments, and filtering according to terms and grading periods which the user defines.

Provost Grade XL 2.0 builds on that success by providing further refinements and additional capabilities, such as being able to show/hide columns on the fly, horizontal scrolling (instead of page-by-page views), anchored username/id titles, and grade totals listed with the student's name.

Provost Grade XL is a web-based gradebook for universities and K-12 schools. Provost Grade XL integrates to Blackboard's Learning System. Some of functionalities of Provost Grade XL include: new algorithms for calculating grades, term and marking point settings, and student report card views. There's also an Instructional Supervisor view, which allows the administrator to give overall grade view access on specific students to specific individuals.
